Getting to Paris 13

To get to the conference venue, follow these directions:

1) get thyself to Gare du Nord. Once there, use the automatic machines to buy a round trip ticket to Epinay-Villetaneuse. This will run you about 5 euros. With that ticket, you can enter into the ticketed zone for the platforms 30-36. These platforms are situated at the RER/Métro side of the train station, which is under an atrium. The platforms 30-36 are on the ground floor (i.e., are not subterranean). Once inside the ticketed area, you can look at the departure screen to find the next train which stops at Epinay-Villetaneuse. Most trains leaving from those tracks include Epinay-Villetaneuse as a stop, but you should double-check (since there are exceptions). You shouldn't have to wait more than about 5-6 minutes before the next train leaves. The train ride is about 10 minutes.

2) you are now at Epinay-Villetaneuse, and you must now get thyself to the P13 campus. What better way to find your way than to follow Google maps? Here is the link

You can walk (this is perhaps the simplest option), take the 361 bus (leaving from the bus stop just in front of train station), or take the tram (access the tram from the end of platform 4 of the train station).

3) you are now at the Université Paris 13, or at least at the gates. You might have to show some ID to get past security. Say that you are attending a conference in Amphi C. To find Amphi C on the campus, consult the following campus map (amongst the group of amphis labeled by number 7 on the map)

http://www.math.univ-paris13.fr/~rousseau/campv.htm

If you've walked or taken the bus, you will be entering the campus in front of building 10 on the map. If you've taken the tram, you will be entering campus at the parking lot labeled P5 (gardé). You can also consult the Google maps instructions in the preceding link.
